Gamepad Tester – Test Your Controller Online
Connect a controller by USB or Bluetooth and press any button. The tester shows every button and axis live, measures stick drift, suggests a deadzone and lets you test vibration. It runs entirely in your browser: nothing is installed, uploaded or stored.
Press any button on your controller to start.

How to use the gamepad tester
- Connect your controller with a cable or pair it over Bluetooth.
- Press any button: browsers only show a controller after the first button press, for privacy.
- Press each button and move both sticks. Pressed buttons light up on the diagram and in the raw list.
- To check drift, let go of both sticks for a few seconds and read the "max at rest" value.
Reading the results
Buttons show a value from 0 to 1; analog triggers move smoothly between them. Axes go from -1 to 1, with 0 in the centre. If the mapping says standard, the diagram matches the usual Xbox-style layout; otherwise only the raw list is reliable, because the browser does not know which physical button is which.
Stick drift and deadzone
A worn or dirty stick does not return exactly to the centre, so a game sees small movements you did not make. The tester records the largest value a stick reports while you are not touching it. Values under about 0.05 are normal. The suggested deadzone is that value plus a small margin: set a deadzone at least that large in your game to hide the drift.
Update rate
The browser reports a new timestamp whenever the controller sends a changed state. Move a stick continuously to see the approximate update rate. It is limited by the browser and the screen refresh rate, so treat it as a rough guide, not a lab measurement.
